We have a great team of PGA Professionals at Little Channels with over 80 years combined experience to coach every standard of golfer from total beginners to professional golfers.

Our coaches deliver lessons in a way that makes it fun but in a very informative manner. We believe that everyone can become a golfer and that every golfer can strive to improve their game.

JASON LEVERMORE

Jason grew up and played his junior golf at Clacton golf club under his father Stuart who has been a PGA professional for 36 years.  He has been a full time playing PGA Professional for 16 years. He represented the county at every age group and level as an amateur and since turning pro he’s played in numerous European tour, Challenge tour and Europrotour events.  He’s won over 150 PGA Competitions including PGA Events around the world and also won several National PGA Tournaments in Europe.  He played in the PGA Cup in 2015 & 2019, he was the highest point scorer for the PGA Cup in California and part of the First PGA Cup team to win on US Soil in 2015.  He won the Essex PGA Order of Merit 5 years in a row from 2011 – 2015 and also won the Essex open in 2016 & Essex PGA Championships 5 years in a row from 2011 onwards.  Jason has been the Head Professional at Channels GC since the 1st April 2013 and is now heading down to little channels as Golf Director and looking forward to the role ahead.

CRAIG HOUSDEN

Craig represented Essex at county level for 9 years playing in the u16s, u18s, u21s and the Men’s teams which was highlighted by being named Essex player of the year in 2003.

JACK COLE

Director and PGA Professional at The School of Golf.  Turned professional in 2010, to specifically focus on building a coaching career and fully qualified in 2013.  Coaching highlights include, PGA East region assistant of the year 2010 and 2012, In final year won GASP coaching award for best academic coaching grades in the UK, Essex golf union under 12 county development coach, and has held this position for the last 4 years. Involves 50 hours of coaching a year to children within mid Essex.  City of Chelmsford Mencap coach- providing tuition to Mencap students for the last two years, from which England golf ran a pilot disability coaching scheme off the back of this.  “I am really privileged to hold this position, and enjoy the challenge of working with the counties youngsters”

MATTHEW MAHONEY

Director and PGA Professional at The School of Golf.  Turned professional in 2011, fully qualifying in 2014 to specifically focus on building a coaching career.  City of Chelmsford Mencap coach- providing tuition to Mencap students for the last two years, from which England golf ran a pilot disability coaching scheme off the back of this.  Career highlights:

STEVE CARDY

A fulltime golf coach committed to helping players and coaches of all levels achieve their best. His aim in life is to help golfers get the most out of their game and he has seen success with all levels and types of players and coaches.  A PGA Fellow Professional, he has a wealth of experience and is renowned for his expertise in improving swing. He holds the distinguished posts of PGA National Swing Tutor and Swing Examiner.  Steve is dedicated to developing talent. Last year, three of his protégés won in four tournaments. He has served as Essex County Coach and lead coach for The Sports Academy where he was instrumental in developing the careers of elite young golfers.  Throughout his career, Steve has attended and spoken at golfing seminars around the world. He has an MSc in the science of sports coaching from London South Bank University and holds a UKCC/PGA level 3 coaching award. He is also a tutor assessor for the Level1 and Level 2 UKCC awards and an assessor for the Level 3 UKCC award. Committed to further professional development, he is now working towards becoming one of the first coaches to gain the elite level 4 coaching award.  Steve has been coaching full time for 20 years and is currently based at Little Channels Golf Club in Essex.
